Dude is just cashing in like the rest of them. If he truly cared about health he would talk about everything, including Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine, and zinc. Or how about those with a healthy immune system have 99.98% chance of nothing to worry about. Instead it’s jab jab jab, mask mask mask, shutdown shutdown shutdown. If you can’t see the totalitarianism in this, he gets richer off a book deal while average Americans suffer from his “solutions”, you know suffer for the greater good, then you are a part of the communist problem

If we actually wanted to *prevent* pandemics, and not just prevent constantly emerging pathogens from becoming pandemics (which isn’t a solution, it’s like putting a bucket under a leak in the roof), the changes required are a lot more far reaching than anything he seems to be mentioning in his book. Sure, it’s good to have a pandemic defense plan in case one spreads to the US, but the real issue is that in China, the government allows for domestic consumption of wildlife, even though time and again we’ve seen that pathogens cross over to humans from these animals. And also, they continue allowing unhygienic wet markets to operate. The UN needs to take collective action to sanction China and force their hand to change their policies, so that it doesn’t keep happening. This pandemic killed millions of people and caused trillions in economic loss. Why is the rest of the world not holding them accountable? We surely would be doing so if they had directly attacked in an armed conflict. How is this any less damaging? Furthermore, pandemics arise from continuing deforestation globally, which results in increased contact between humans/domestic animals and wildlife. And finally, pandemics can also originate from factory farming. So if we really wanted to prevent pandemics, it would require creating legislation that would limit these activities and the general population to agree to change their meat eating lifestyle. Of course, moving in this direction (limiting deforestation and factory farming) is also necessary anyways because of the climate crisis. But because governments are ruled by the interests of big businesses, nothing will happen unless there is enormous public pressure. So, we’re screwed.

Have we considered the role of food in our body's immune response? There are known carcinogens, mutagens and an overabundance of antibiotics in ALL the prepackaged, highly processed "food" we consume. Big Pharma may convince us that only drugs will save us, so I advise all those Micky D's diners to be vaccinated immediately. Please realize that a healthy body consists of ALL that goes into it. From taking in fresh air (preferably near trees) to a satisfying poop, YOU have control over your body, your diet, digestion and your immune response. IMHO, it is whole foods, local, organic food - that I fix myself; THAT is the best medicine.

The SUGAR Industry has NO interest in talking their product out of...well, everything that we eat. The TRAVEL Industry certainly has NO interest in medical quarantines. More a FARM BILL problem... Farm Bill subsidizes Big Ag to make corn, soy, sugar, & dairy cheap. We need to subsidize fruits and vegetables and make those perishables cheaper instead of demonizing poor people trying to stretch their SNAP dollars with food that doesn't rot in 2 days. Don't be hating on SNAP users in poverty. Everyone knows fruits & vegs are healthier for them. Let's subsidize them and make fruits and Vegs as cheap as we have made corn, soy, sugar, & dairy (through government subsidies). Make the HEALTHY choice the CHEAP and EASY choice and people WILL eat healthy. No need for blaming, shaming, classism. Heaven forbid _you_ ever need SNAP help. Demonize greedy untaxed corporations, not individuals needing help. Punch UP, not down on struggling people.

nice sentiment about health food availability. Let me explain why it wont work. Our nation is a nation of wage slaves. People work crazy hours to keep up with increased cost of living and inflation. Wages remain stagnant. When someone works a 10 hour shift and sit in traffic for another hour to get home they don't want to spend another 30 minutes preparing a healthy meal. They just want to eat something fast and that tastes good. Usually that involves empty carbs and sugar. Our problem is not only one of availability its one of our population being overly stressed, depressed, and exhausted. For that same reason no one wants to go for a 40 minute run either. Fun fact: In antiquity the fattest people were often the wealthiest. Being fat was a sign of prosperity compared to peasants that couldn't afford food. I'd bet my bottom dollar that the opposite is true now. Being fit is a sign of wealth as you can afford gym memberships with personal trainers and have enough free time to cook meals. I'd bet that if a study was done they'd find a causal link between poverty and obesity.
